I will not rest until I make the perfect chocolate/peanut butter sweet treat. So…I tried again. I drove down the organic street tho. Bought all organic/non-gmo/no pesticide, no additive, no anti-biotic stuff – EVEN THE COOKING SPRAY!
So, I took the recipe base off the back of the organic chocolate chip bag. And then off I went. HA!
2 c A.P. flour (I actually used white-wheat)
1/4 c high fat cocoa (not dutch process)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 shake of “Baking Spice” – made of cinnamon, mace, cardamon, allspice
3/4 c organic sugar
3/4 c organic brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c organic butter
1/2 c organic peanut butter
2 organic eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 package organic chocolate chips
Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add peanut butter. Mix until combined. Add chocolate chips.
Spray a 9 x 13″ pan with cooking spray. Spread the batter in the pan. Bake 35 -40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
I’m putting this “out there” without trying them yet…they’re STILL in the oven (I’m at 35 minutes…I think my oven is a bit on the cool side). We may be trying them together. It’s a bonding moment for us.
Ice cream would go well with this. And chocolate sauce. Maybe some peanut butter cups too. What do you think?
