So, in this day and age of uncertainty – we’ve got a crazy government causing all kinds of upset WORLDWIDE. We’ve got kids shooting other kids, we’ve got war and unrest…and now a polio outbreak…financial markets are tenuous, the weather is weird…How do we keep from worrying (which is a form of fear)?
Several references today remind me not to fear – this is the first, from Proverbs 3:
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 for the Lord will be at your side
and will keep your foot from being snared.
Believe it or not, my follow up to that in MY mind is Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in The Lord always. I will say it again, rejoice! Verses 4-8 of Philippians 4 bring me comfort ALL the time, and keep me in the mindset that God is with us! God is ALWAYS with us. He sees our fears, he sets us on our right path, he forgives us when we stray.
Life is uncertain. I know that for a fact. Whenever we feel we are on firm ground, the clay turns to sand and moves beneath our feet. What can we do? Pray. Pray these verses. Pray for the strength of Ephesians 6. Pray for guidance, pray for comfort as in Isaiah 40. Read verses 28-31 and know that The Lord our God is holding you in the palm of his hand.
I pray for peace and comfort – for those who need the shelter of God’s angels’ wings. I know I need that comfort and shelter every day.
To the Glory of our Lord God, we lift our eyes to the heavens and say Thank You Lord God – Thank you for today! Thank You for your love. Thank you for this life we live. Help us all become better stewards and show the love You give us through loving others…by looking at others through the eyes of Your only Son, Jesus Christ – who saw the goodness in those that society did not recognize. Let us see the goodness in all things.
Have a blessed day!
